'The Do-Over' Reading, Signing + Discussion with Amanda MacKenzie

06:00 pm to 07:00 pm

Join Bridgeside Books in welcoming Amanda MacKenzie, author of The Do-Over.

What if you were offered a chance to begin again, to create the life you wish for?

Fresh out of college, with no prospects of love or work on the horizon, Amanda moved back home. Living with her parents, in a suburb of Boston, was meant to be a temporary arrangement. Until she met an unexpected reason to stay. Luke: the cute, attentive, young minister at her family’s church. And before she knew it, she’d fallen into love. And divinity school.

By thirty, Amanda was married to Luke, in a house of their own, with a promising career as a minister in a small-town New England church. From outside everything looked perfect. But inside? She felt like she’d lost herself. Marriage felt like a burden; her career, a mismatch. This wasn’t how she wanted to live.

She began shedding the “shoulds” and following her inner compass. This took her on an unexpected journey through divorce, out of the ministry, over the Italian Alps, and onto a small farm.

The Do-Over is an inspirational story about waiting for clarity, trusting your inner wisdom, and the surprising turns life takes when you let go and believe in possibility. A refreshing reminder that you can always begin again.

A Civilized Friday

09:30 am to 06:00 pm

"Christmas shopping should be a luxury where customers can take the time to find the perfect gift."

Based on this sentiment, many bookstores in the U.K. began a 'Civilised Saturday' a couple of years ago as an antidote to the dreaded U.S. import, Black Friday.

In the spirit of Giving, being Thankful and Civilized, Bridgeside Books offers A Civilized Friday to our friends, supporters, and customers.

Join us throughout the day for delicious mimosas, tea and sweet treats, and live music.

As always, we off complimentary giftwrap and cheerful service. We also offer suggestions for everyone on your giving list, Wish Lists to let your loved ones know what you're wishing for this season, and special orders & gift certificates.
