In addition to enjoying the lengthy stream of enchanting lanterns, community members can gather at the parade's destination for hot chocolate, a bonfire, and entertainment such as Cirque de Fuego - fire spinners. Every December since 2010, community members of all ages have been coming together to celebrate and participate in the excitement of the River of Light Lantern Parade and festivities! In addition to enjoying the lengthy stream of enchanting lanterns, community members can gather at the parade's destination for hot chocolate, a bonfire, and entertainment such as Cirque de Fuego - fire spinners. Past years have included Burlington's street Samba band, Sambatucada, which has led the procession and are often joined by Burlington's Brass Balagan.

Be a part of the excitement by building a lantern and joining the parade!

Community members are invited to build a lantern and participate in the parade. Lantern-building workshops are available for families, school children, and artists who wish to build larger lanterns. All tools and materials are provided. Workshops are free but donations are gladly accepted. Registration is required for all workshops as spaces are limited. See lantern workshops here.
