Revitalizing Waterbury, in partnership with the Town of Waterbury, is launching an initiative to build awareness of local volunteer-based organizations and help them recruit and retain further volunteer support. The Waterbury Community Volunteer Fair will be held in the gym at the Brookside Primary School from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, May 17.
Volunteer Organization Recruitment: Volunteer-based organizations interested in hosting a table at the Fair can access the link below and submit the completed form by April 30 Confirmations will go out May 1.
RW is also posting a "Volunteer Opportunities" page on our website and interested parties can post their volunteer openings by completing the same form with brief volunteer job descriptions and contact information. There is no fee for exhibiting or attending the Fair.
Set up for Exhibitors at the Fair begins at 12 noon. Tables (6' - 8') and chairs will be provided. Exhibitors should plan on bringing their own table top displays, brochures, laptops, etc. Exhibitors should not count on electrical outlets being available at each table. but recharging stations will be accessible. Each exhibitor is encouraged to have sign up sheets and will be given 20 raffle tickets to hand to prospective volunteers. Arrangements are being made for childcare in the Children's Room space for those who need it
Open to the Public: Prospective volunteers and interested parties are welcome the Fair from 1 to 3 pm to interact with exhibitors and discover ways to engage and contribute to the Waterbury community. . Gift certificates and prizes have been generously donated by local Waterbury merchants and drawings will be held every 10 minutes..From 1:50 to 2:10 there will be a short intermission with light refreshments for a panel discussion on Recruiting & Managing Volunteers and Non-Profit Fundraising in the school cafeteria. Again, here is no cost to register.
