Natasha Bogar painting featured on 2024 Waterbury Arts Fest Commemorative Poster
Revitalizing Waterbury (RW) is pleased to announce the winner of its Waterbury Arts Fest Commemorative Poster contest. Artist Natasha Bogar of Bolton Valley, VT has created a beautiful painting of a stormy scene at the Waterbury Reservoir. This image will be featured on the second annual Waterbury Arts Fest poster to be sold as a fundraiser for Revitalizing Waterbury.
RW sought submissions from Vermont artists for the new poster. “Six artists submitted their work for consideration,” said Karen Nevin, Executive Director of Revitalizing Waterbury. “Natasha’s vibrant and dramatic painting of the Waterbury Reservoir, an iconic and beloved place in the Town of Waterbury, was a clear favorite.” In addition to having their work featured on the poster, the winning artist will have a premium location at the Waterbury Arts Fest and will sign posters for sale.
Natasha is an artist who loves to spend time in the woods during every season, finding scenes to recreate in her paintings. She enjoys chasing the seasonal light of Vermont in oils and watercolors. “Oil is my medium of choice while in the studio. The intensity of the pigments and the fluidity of the paint lends itself to dramatic effects,” said Bogar. “I am thrilled to have won this competition and to have my painting of the Waterbury Reservoir featured on the Arts Fest Commemorative Poster.” The posters will be sold for $20 during the Waterbury Arts Fest and at the RW offices. All funds raised will support the work of Revitalizing Waterbury.
The Waterbury Art Fest will be held on Friday evening, July 12 and Saturday, July 13, 2024, in downtown Waterbury. The Friday Night Block Party is a large dance party held in the evening with live music, beer garden, food trucks and dancing. The Saturday Arts Market has over 100 art exhibitors, live entertainment, family activities and an extensive food truck court. The Waterbury Arts Fest is sponsored by dozens of local businesses, led by VSECU, our Grand Sponsor; Suburban Propane, our Friday Night Block Party Sponsor; Fairfield by Marriot, our Saturday Arts Market Sponsor and Ben & Jerry’s, our Stage & Entertainment Sponsor.
The Waterbury Arts Fest is the primary fundraiser for Revitalizing Waterbury, whose mission is to preserve, promote and enhance the economic, social and historic vitality of Waterbury, Vermont. More information about the Waterbury Arts Fest can be found at www.WaterburyArtsFest.com.
