Visual artist, Linden Eller, is guiding a community based art experience and installation, titled Paralleling, at the Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall in Waterbury, from July 12th -14th, 2024.

Paralleling will include multiple stations with different materials where participants can experience the reflective, meditative, and playful nature of mark making. While a quiet environment is strongly encouraged, there will be ambient sounds ...

Visual artist, Linden Eller, is guiding a community based art experience and installation, titled Paralleling, at the Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall in Waterbury, from July 12th -14th, 2024.

Paralleling will include multiple stations with different materials where participants can experience the reflective, meditative, and playful nature of mark making. While a quiet environment is strongly encouraged, there will be ambient soundscapes provided live and pre-recorded by musician, Ben Dexter, of St. Silva. Linden will be using the materials filled with marks by participants to assemble into an intuitive, abstract installation in the gallery. Her collages and paintings will also be available to view and purchase.

Linden Eller (b.1984, Phoenix, AZ) is a mixed media visual artist and art educator, currently based in Mount Holly, Vermont. Her work explores a dichotomy between memory architecture and the present experience. Her work acts as a gentle nudge to loosen our hold on the past, celebrating the science that memory is full of alterations, renewals, and inaccuracies. Embracing intuition, experimentation, and play, many parts of her process are intentionally unplanned - an exercise in mindfulness and acceptance of each moment and decision. She thinks of her work as layered field recordings that represent a oneness – multiple perspectives and repetitions of the same shared story.

The Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall is located at 5 Stowe St, Waterbury Village Historic District, VT 05676. Paralleling will be open to the public for participation on July 12th, 3-8pm & July 13th, 10am - 5pm. A reception will be held on July 13th, 5-8pm. The completed installation will be open to view on July 14th, 10am-2pm. This event is free to the public. Youth are welcome.

A River Runs Through It (ARRTI) Garden Club of Waterbury, Vermont will host its annual self-guided Garden Tour on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, from 9 AM - 3 PM, rain or shine.


ARRTI will showcase 6 beautiful Vermont gardens in and around Waterbury, Waterbury Center, and Duxbury. The gardens chosen for this year's self-guided tour include a variety of ecological settings such as riverside, mountainside, sun, shade, and vegetable gardens. Most of the gardens are located at private homes but we’re also excited to include the Community Gardens of both Waterbury and Duxbury. All proceeds benefit ARRTI community grants, programs, and garden projects.
Special Instructions:
A detailed tour map, instructions, and garden descriptions will be sent to ticketholders on Saturday, July 20th, the evening before the event.
Parking is limited in some locations so carpooling is encouraged and highly recommended.
Most of the gardens are located at private residences on dirt roads.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Children must always be accompanied by an adult while touring the gardens.
Please leave your pets at home.
Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event from members of ARRTI who will be located at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 56 Main Street, Waterbury VT.
