Bridgeside Books seeks a part-time bookseller/event coordinator. We aim to be the place to find things to engage your mind - from books to strategy games to ways to be creative. You must love to read and be able to be helpful, cheerful, and respectful to everyone who walks through the door. This is a 20 hr/week, permanent, year-round position starting in May, with the potential for more during the holidays. Flexibility is necessary for both schedule and since this is a new, somewhat evolving position - we want someone to work with us and be excited to bring new ideas to the table.

General duties:

  • Greet customers, answer questions, determine needs, recommend products, share your knowledge and enthusiasm
  • Tidy up, restock, break down boxes, input new inventory, light cleaning (this all includes lifting boxes up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, crouching, and standing/walking for the entirety of your shift)
  • Plan and coordinate events throughout the year from author readings to creative collaborations with other businesses
  • Work shifts on weekends, occasional evenings for events, and some holidays. (The bookstore is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day)

Hender's Bake Shop & Cafe is hiring a weekend Barisa/Counter position to cover shifts on Saturday and Sundays from 7:30 am-2:30 pm; the pay is $13-15/hour plus tips. This position will fulfill all online orders and window orders, including making lattes and boxing pastries. They will also help with packaging wholesale, washing dishes, cleaning & sanitizing, along with the changing seasonal tasks (shoveling porch & watering plants). Customer Service experience required, at least one year. No espresso machine experience needed, but you must love coffee!!!
